Welcome to The San Benito Blueprint!

Welcome to the San Benito Blueprint!

Arriving in January 2025.

Your home for everything development and transportation. San Benito County needs a resource that explains the complicated processes that go into transportation and development, we hope to fill that gap. We want to bring you not just news of what’s coming but a greater understanding of how growth occurs and the policies that drive it.

We’ve even come up with a mission statement:

At The San Benito Blueprint, our mission is to empower the everyday Benitoites by making development and planning accessible, understandable, and transparent. We are committed to:

  • Simplifying Complex Information: Breaking down policies, plans, and developments into straightforward, non-political insights that anyone can understand.
  • Fighting Disinformation: Providing accurate, reliable, and timely information to counter myths and misconceptions about local growth and planning.
  • Engaging the Community: Encouraging informed discussions and fostering a deeper connection between San Benito residents and the future of their community.

Through thoughtful storytelling and clear explanations, The San Benito Blueprint serves as a trusted resource for navigating the evolving landscape of our county. Together, we can build a better understanding of the development shaping our home.

  1. Who will be the editor to decide that it is the proper translation of information? Do you have a committee of people who have different perspectives that can come together to create one voice that speaks truth?

    1. Hi Robin! This site is first and foremost a blog. The goal is to make information that is a bit harder to find, more accessible and easy to understand to the general public and to share news that might go otherwise unnoticed. Right now it’s a team of one and I’m doing this in my free time. I’ll be citing sources in my posts and will leave it up to the reader to form their opinions with the information provided. While their may be time for more conjecture or editorials down the line the focus will be on policy translation and regular local updates on developments, transportation and the like. Hope that answers your questions! I’m always open to feedback and corrections should a source be provided. Thank you!

  3. Hi Ray, This is Leslie David from BenitoLink. BenitoLink is a nonprofit news organization that covers San Benito County. Our organization is starting its 14th year. https://benitolink.com/

One of our reporters came across your blog and we are very excited to hear about you. What a great project. It could be very helpful to the residents of our county. We would love to meet you and would also be interested in potentially doing a story on your new project.

Happy New Year and let’s meet up sometime soon. Leslie
